MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS

MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS

  • The Ministry of Foreign Affairs must transition its staff to employ career diplomats who hold degrees or equivalent in Political Science, International Relations, World History or Communications.
  • The goal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the Independent Presidency of Kofi Koranteng will be to represent Ghana in a professional manner while seeking beneficial alliances with other Nations. Political appointments to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be eliminated in favor of diplomatic professionals.
  • Budgets for officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be established on a mission by mission basis and limited to the necessities of representing Ghana. Foreign Affairs officials should not consider their assignments as luxury vacations but rather as an opportunity to further the agenda of Ghana as it seeks to be a prominent exporter of goods and services. It will be expected that all foreign affairs missions, officials and employees maintain a frugal living standard below their assigned budgets.
  • The Ministry of Foreign Affairs must explicitly provide to each employee a detailed written objective based upon their individual assignments. These written job descriptions must be updated as necessary. It will be expected that goal assessments for each foreign mission should be performed with regularity.
  • The Ministries of Justice and Finance will be ordered to monitor, audit and report to the Office of the President and Parliament the expenditures of officials and employees at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at regular intervals.
  • A priority mission of international relations shall be to apply for aid and grants with foreign governments and corporations that will benefit the rebuilding and modernization of Ghana.
  • As the rebuilding programs instituted by Agenda 2024 in Ghana begin to produce exportable goods and services, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will seek viable markets with equitable compensation for goods and services produced in Ghana.
  • The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will seek to renegotiate the debt of Ghana with the World Bank, Nations and International Investors that will lower debt interest payments. The object of seeking new loans will not be to add debt to Ghana, rather the objective will be to ease the burden of previously excessive debt by past administrations.
  • The Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall not pledge the future output of the Natural Resources of Ghana as collateral against loans whether with the World Bank, Nations or International Lenders without an express act of Parliament approved and signed by the President.
  • The Ministry of Foreign Affairs through their International Missions and Embassies shall project a positive image of Ghana as a “Nation on the Move”.
  • The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will solicit International Partnerships with Non-Profits, Governments and Corporations that will feature control of programs and projects by Ghanaians.
  • The goal of Agenda 2024 and the Independent Presidency of Kofi Koranteng is to end the exploitation of Ghana and Ghanaians by foreign interlopers while welcoming them as partners. Agenda 2024 believes that recapturing the promise of an Independent Ghana hinges on regaining control of our economy, protecting our resources along with becoming a Nation that is a net exporter of goods and services.
